UT didnt seek permission to talk to Strong

If there is anything our AD Tom Jurich doesn't like, its people going behind his back. Apparently Texas seeked Strong without his knowing. Isn't it common courtesy to let an AD know beforehand they want an interview with your coach or is this becoming the norm? Looks like if for some reason Briles says no (which I doubt) it more than likely will be Strong.

I wouldn't want Briles as my teams coach. His team always seems to play thuggish.

I did not realize that permission was needed from one school to talk to another school's coach about hiring them, is this correct? Is there some type of rule or are we talking courtesy here?

From what I have always understood is that it is courtesy to at least let the AD know you are going to talk to his coach. Permission is not required, but should be expected.

Lots of smoke screens going on with the Texas HC search right now. No Texas source has confirmed that Strong was interviewed or even had formal discussions. FB Rumormill had a source saying that Strong was NOT interviewed, FWIW.
