I thought Gonzales was brought in last year and everyone on staff, including Crowton, was told by Miles that he'd fire Crowton after this season and BG would be promoted to full-time OC.

Saban's proven an ability to find good young talent and at the time lsu was not what it is now nor was it able or willing to pay what it can now. Miles is hit or miss with his coordinators and tends to go with safe uninspired hires. Auburn was able, UF was as well. Why should lsu settle?

I heard on Finescum from a media rep being interviewed from Louisville started this rumor and it is nothing but a joke.

would i take him over gary? in a heartbeat. Excuse my ignorance, but show me where chow shined without having arguably the greatest recruiting class in the history of college football.
In other words krags has done more with less in regards to what he did at tamu and tulsa as a OC.

you would be ok with gonzales??? i used to be, but watching that abortion of a offense that florida had this past year has me thinking no thanks. If addazio was picked over gonzales, what does that say about him?

wasn't it saban that hired gary gibbs, major applewhite, john thompson, phil emassion. he's had his hit's and misses as well. none of those guy's inspired anyone when they were hired.

i'm not to worried about malzahn. there is only one cam newton.
n.f.l. o.c's don't go to college on a regular basis. he may do great at florida or he may leaven in a year or two because the two ego's can't co-exist.
every o.c. get's their name while they are successful. every top o.c. has down years and aren't as successful at times. chow is a perfect example. he was thought to be the best in the land in 2003. now he is unemployed.

Cool, thanks BP. Kragthorpe is a terrible candidate, IMO. But at least he has a decent history of developing QBs...
Kragthorpe's history sounds almost Crowtonish. Bottom line is Miles is going to hire a weak OC he can control. Whether people realize it or not, Miles is as much the problem on offense as Crowton.

terrible is a strong word, but there are others I would want ahead of him. I gonna wait to hear who the other two canidates Miles interviewed are.

I like the new negatiger lines these days. Miles is responsible for the bad offenses, but played no part in the good offenses of 2005-2007. Sounds like John Kerry.
