We are the only ones that are anxious.

We told you we'd keep you updated with the latest going on inside the football offices. We didn't post anything yesterday, because we honestly didn't feel there was anything worth posting. The coaching search is dominating our time right now, but we honestly are in a bit of a holding pattern. I wanted to check in with you guys to wish you a happy Thanksgiving, and give you some tidbits on what we are hearing at this point. 1. The message that most of our sources are conveying is that this thing doesn't really get started until after Friday's game against TCU. There's a lot of posturing and guessing going on right now about how things will play out, but that's just part of the process of getting the horse into the gate. The race begins once Friday's game ends. 2. Despite what is being reported elsewhere we continue to hear that Texas will move on from Charlie Strong win or lose Friday. Barring a rogue decision by the guys in charge (that would go against everything they've told key people at Texas), Friday will be the finale for the Charlie Strong era. 3. We have heard things have slowed with Tom Herman, but it's more from a sense of waiting until things are official before making a push. As of now we still believe he is a front runner for the job. 4. Remember that these negotiations are largely about perceived leverage for both sides, and a lot of things are leaked in the name of that leverage. Nobody is willing to show their cards at this point when they really don't have to. 5. We understand that UT Chancellor William McRaven is involved in the search, but we've heard it's from more of an organizational/guidance standpoint than a clear cut "commanding officer" role. He will definitely have a voice in the decision, but from what we know he doesn't want to be "THE voice". 6. At this point we haven't heard any credible names for backup hires if they do decide to move on from Tom Herman. Several names have come out, but nothing substantial enough to run with. 7. Relax and enjoy your Thanksgiving with your family. If you're traveling to the game on Friday be safe and support these seniors. Things will start to speed up this weekend.

They say this shite about every coach they want, then end up not hiring them.

If Herman is off the board I believe he does. Who's available that's better?? Plus he is just now getting his guys on the field.

2 days ago, Herman was picking out houses in Austin.

Now, UT can't even figured out if they've fired their own coach yet.

Like for real, they basically said last year they were just gonna walk down here and take manieri out of his office, and drive him back to austin

and had to settle with the guy from Tulane

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. But jimbo was done last year. Lsu pulled the plug. Has a lot to do with why fisher won't accept this year. Lsu had him. They messed that up

If UT ends up keeping Strong and we land Herman I will not be able to contain my laughter, I literally might collapse a lung from laughing so hard
