What about Mark Whipple?
Needs to be on the list.
If we return to a pro-style attack, Whipple would be a very good hire.

1) what path led logan from boston college's OC to a RB coach in the NFL?
when the whole Jagz/ BC weirdness went down, Logan got passed over for the HC job and ended up following Jagz to the Bucs. Jagz had gotten the OC gig there. he stuck around after Jagz got fired.

2) those of you high on whipple, what are the reasons you like him? i ask because he just got fired, obviously.
pro style guy, QB developer.

Might be a bit of a homer pick, but Curtis Johnson, Saints WR coach. Although, I would hate to see him leave the Saints
This!!
Would be fantastic imo. Hell of a recruiter at Miami too.

i'll take bozo the clown at this point.

Curtis is a great coach was a great recruiter in college and definitely coached some great WRs at Miami. I'm not sure he is qualified as a OC though...if you said fire Gonzo and then hire Curtis, then I'd say hell yea.

I would hope after all his years of coaching he could make the jump to OC. Especially being around a guy like Sean Payton. Certainly not as proven as others, but very intriguing.

Belowpar told me that Crowton is as good as gone and will be replaced by Co-Coordinators Gonzales and Studwara.

I'd seriously go and kidnap both Gonzo and Stud immediately. The fact Gonzo was passed up at Florida and how horrible their OC is, makes me question how competent he is. Especially when you consider our WRs took a huge step back this year and for the first time I can remember in awhile, LSU WRs have no idea how to block.
Stud actually OCed at BC I think but I think a lot of people want to see him gone...

Miles could be successful at LSU for a long time if he replaces Crowton and "his" gimmicky spread offense with more of a pro-style offense that Miles wants to run and becomes more of a CEO style head coach. He needs to bring in people he can trust. I would love for him to "get the band back together" by bringing back Monken and Henson.
The offense needs to return to more of a Pro-Style system.
1) Steve Logan (good QB coach, rumors were going around that he was the front-runner if he replaced Crowton last year)
2) Todd Monken (IMO, the best position coach LSU has had in a long time. Miles trusts him. Was heavily involved in all of Miles successful offenses in the past. Was heavily, heavily involved in the success of the offense at the end of the 2006 season, he was basically running the offense. Miles should have promoted him instead of hiring Crowton.)
3) Mark Whipple (now available, good friends with Ruffin Rodrigue)
4) Dirk Koetter
5) Greg Knapp
6) Rob Chudzinski
7) Clint Conque
While he is at it, Miles needs to replace the OL coach.
1) Josh Henson (bring back the right-hand-man, clock manager)
2) Kevin Mawae
3) Pete Mangurian
4) Ben Wilkerson (promote him)

I'm iffy on Mark Whipple after watching Jacory Harris and a number of other QBs struggle at Miami.

Yeah Logan wanted a pay raise, but their ad is insanely cheap.
