Fire a coach with 9 wins? Did we learn nothing from Nebraska?

Oops wrong thread. My bad.

Seeing that the academic side of LSU is more dependent on funds from the athletic department, LSU can't afford for the football program not to be successful.

Well i was told the TAF has raised over 15 million to buy out CLM so he as coach has to know this is brewing and a possibility! CLM might compromising with the thought of a buyout and changing the offensive mentality or CLM migh be packing his bags himself!

You think Chavis got wind of this????

LSURussian....in your presented situation, I do not see TAF interfering in the athletic department. In your scenario, they are no different than the individuals in the Rant expressing their pleasure or displeasure with the current situation.

But, if they in the meeting DEMAND that changes be made, I see that as interfering with the athletic department.

Sounds like your TAF friends have enough to buy him out this year?? Why wait? Either you or your TAF source is full of........ So if CM goes 10-2 but fails to win SEC, TAF going to buy him out??

Give me one of those cigs you're smoking!

Exactly, his math was off, only takes 50 people, don't think the money is being raised for a buyout anyway though

Dandy Don told me that LSU is all about the money...

Everything done or not done is circle around money.

Alleva is a money type guy...

so the money at TAF, drive a lot of decisions IMHO. The don't like it but with out money and support, you got diddly squat.

If Miles goes 8-4 next year, I think you will see a change.

LSU can not slip from Elite status...not with the facilities debts owed...commitments etc.

Winning ball games is important...Talent isn't LSU's problem...which is a good thing....

the OC deal must be addressed...yesterday

Lets be real for a second...If Nick Saban was still at the Miami Dolphins, I doubt we would be having this discussion and how it's all elevated..

He has taken control over the SEC in 3 short years

Hey, I want to apologize to everyone as I believe that I have taken the thread in a different direction than what the original poster had chosen.

I agree with this, at least not the only issue.

Ok, in that case, is TAF interfering in the athletic department every time it writes a check to pay a coach's supplementary salary or to fund infrastructure improvements?

If TAF's funding declined so much that it could not pay for the above commitments (if GC is retained), wouldn't TAF management look pretty inept if they had not even bothered to inform Alleva of that possibility?

Thanks for this. Unsubstantiated rumors and name calling deserve more respect than you showed.
