think you're missing the point... he would have been lying to say "I never considered going to Texas" if he does end up at Texas.

so your post you quoted saying that he wouldn't have lied at all would be incorrect

Not officially.

Not last week.

There was no opening.

So, no consideration or conversation.

Yet.

It's like when an AD says, "We have not made contact with Coach ______." He leaves out that they have talked to his agent, of course.

You're the a-hole, not him He says he regrets it numerous times, and then is a man of his words for 8 solid years. And you still judge him a liar. That's pretty shitty bro. You need to grow up. Forgive.

OK.

"I guess I have to say it," Saban said. "I'm not going to be the Alabama coach."

There was nothing to consider until today, when the job opened up. He's in the clear this time.

Do these two statements seem similar?

"I never considered going to Texas. That wasn't even a conversation."

"I guess I have to say it," Saban said. "I'm not going to be the Alabama coach."

I'm with you, Doc - this ain't over yet.

8 solid years? What is it with gump math? Can't count their national championships, think 7 is twice as much as 8 and think 8 is 7.

Totally don't give no frick Sid...TOTALLY

Saban has recruited harder than ANY other SEC Coach the last 2 weeks during this media shitstorm, harder than Les even and THAT is what makes LSU fans mad

He told every recruit he visited whether committed to Bama or not, he wasn't leaving, told HS coaches everyone that would listen

Tejas regents and idiots plane tracking and rumors from realtors were all spewing nothing but bullshite

Saban was still busting his MOTHERfrickING arse recruiting, in NoLa, in Texas, in Michigan, in Florida, Alabama. He racked up frequent flyer miles like a CEO

The loss to AU pissed him off bad enough that he dedicated the extra week to putting together the best damn recruiting class and addressing every need and adding a few wants as well

The shitstorm continued, and he kept telling everyone he could that he wasn't leaving

You see the pattern? If you look closely enough you'll realize every bit of the crap anyone wrote and you read about why how or when he would be the next coach at Tejas was on Tejas' side and nothing of any merit

I guess he still gone now that fricktard Cowlinshaw of the DALLAS NEWS says he is still a target

Saban is still in Ttown recruiting

ok. You all know it would be dishonest of him to say it and that he would look dishonest in the press.

Y'all are not being objective about this at all. He may still go, but you're buying into your own hype too much here.

"He told us a couple weeks ago that he's proud to be a Dolphin and he's going to be sticking around," Dolphins quarterback Joey Harrington said. "So I take him at his word. I've taken him at his word ever since I came here. He's one of the reasons why I decided to come to Miami. And so, if he tells us he's going to say, I trust him. But on the other hand, there's a lot of job offers out there and he's a tremendous coach."

vs.

quote:

"He told me he's not leaving. And I know Miss Terry [Saban's wife] well enough; she runs that house. And she's not allowing Coach to leave either. I think he'll be at the University of Alabama for a little while."

"He told me he wasn't going anywhere and the man's never lied to me in the five years I've been there," McCarron said. "Like I've always said, he's like a second dad to me. I don't see why he would leave and why he'd lie to me."

Most LSU fans were (notice that word, not are) mad when Nick went to Bama. Same way most Bama fans would be if he left for a year and then came back to coach Tenn or Auburn. For most LSU fans that is ancient history though.

Does he now leave Bama for Texas? I doubt it. Not because he is above saying what he has said recently and then going, but because he has made a decision that his time coaching will be very limited. He'll be there a couple of years at best and then he is off to ESPN and broadcasting. He was at a crossroad--he has made his decision that coaching will soon end for him.
