Thing to remember - no one even interviewed

They didn't even interview anyone. A supposed top 10 program with some of the most diehard fans. Remember that when Joe Alleva talks about "Competing for championships" and "visions of excellence". A program that charges thousands in mandatory donations for season tickets. Ridiculous. This is cause to fire Alleva, F King, and some of the BOS to be replaced from their cushy insulated jobs.

There's no good narrative here. Either they did no interviews and wanted E from the beginning, or everyone said no and we were stuck with this.

I think they put an ad on Craigslist. Surprisingly, no one else was interested in a $1,000,000+ salary to be the OC.

O wanted Freeze, Briles, and reached out to Gilbert. The first 2 were blocked by the AD/BOS because of extreme baggage (real baggage). Gilbert wanted his staff (out), and O trusts Steve and has confidence in him. I am 100% sure that Aranda approved of this, also.
