Seriously, dude? Ed, coonass, "Go Tigahs" Orgeron is secretly, ALWAYS trying to tear down LSU?

Oh but somehow his plot went amok and he accidentally went 15-0? Let me guess- this is not the ONLY conspiracy theory you have fallen for, is it?

Good Lord, can't we fire the guy without having to completely demonize him? B-b-but, what if he's secretly working with Trump to save the thousands of sex-slave children in the Hollywood elites' international pedophile ring???

If O is getting a "without cause" firing and 100% of his buyout, a better word would be surrender. Truly pathetic move on Woodward's part. The amount of money we are paying to ex-coaches is an absolute scandal (and it's not unique to LSU) and I don't understand why there's no university in the entire country willing to stand up for itself

This is so fricking stupid it makes my head hurt. It’s like some of you people want Joe Dean back as our AD.

You only have to go back to UT last year to see exactly how this works. When you fire a coach for cause, even when it’s completely justified, nobody wants your fricking job. No agent is going to spin that in a positive light to their client. If they have another equal or close option, they are taking that job or staying put instead. The last thing you want your top candidate thinking about is having to look over his shoulder from year two on. That’s how you end up hiring the 5th or 6th guy down your list after early signing is already over.

Now, Heupel looks like he might just work out for them, so good for UT on having a little luck. However, that doesn’t mean their search wasn’t a total dumpster fire. This is easy to avoid. Pay the money and the next guy will have no reservations when they look at you. They will know that you pay coaches when they win big and you honor the buyout agreements. If you think this doesn’t matter, then you are wasting your time following this coaching search.

most of the money if not all of it will come from big money boosters. If they are willing to pay it, why do you care?

because there's better things they could spend their money on...

sure coach O's record wasn't the greatest, but i think they could have gotten one more year out of him

This is exactly wrong. First, because I don't believe O has anything meaningful on LSU, and even if it exists O is too dumb to keep receipts. But even if it did exist, I'd rather it come out, because otherwise it's never going to stop. There's some kind of agreed-on code by ADs and coaches that nobody should ever be held accountable for anything they do, and it drives me nuts. No other business or institution operates this way.

Your lack of a grasp on the American legal system and how it’s used is astounding. EVERY business in this country operates in an environment where they can be sued for any number of reasons. When that happens, they will settle at least 95% of the time.

Why? First, it’s less usually much less expensive to settle than bother with the legal fees and wasted time. Second, who in the frick wants a trial discovery where the defense, NCAA, reporters and PIs can get their hands on ALL KINDS of information on you. That could never be allowed to happen.

Yes. Serious. He is a piece of crap who used to always go negative about LSU until he needed work in 2015 and also thought Les would easily be pushed out. LSU then became his dream job. He loved LSU when he got paid for loving it. He left the team worse than when he took over as coach because he was just about making money off LSU. Once he got big guarantee he started screwing off in more ways than one.

If you bought his crap don’t blame anyone but yourself.

LSU and the powers that be are not idiots. They know all the facts and feel payout is best. That’s all you need to know.

If you want, think if it this way. Coming in and out LSU and O both know where all the bodies are buried. Distancing LSU from o is like setting down a rattlesnake. Do it slow. Careful. No sudden movements. Easy. Neither party wants to upset the other one. Slowly let go and walk away - keeping the rattlesnake and the handler happy….

Then move on. All inroads intact.

In the circle: Dabo- Kiffen.
In the mix. Jimbo.

But I certainly do not know. But I know what I state is fact.
