Per Herb Vincent. Interesting to say the least....

quote:

Not much new on the Les Miles-to-Michigan story yet today. But I did just speak to LSU Associate Athletic Director Herb Vincent and he clarified a few reports that strayed from reality as last night’s events unfolded.

First, there was no late-night meeting with Miles and LSU AD Joe Alleva or other high-ranking university officials in an effort to convince the coach to stay. After Miles’ meeting with Michigan AD Dave Brandon, Miles went home.

So what does that mean? I could see it meaning two things 1. He didnt need to meet with them because turned them down. 2. He accepted and didnt need to meet with them.

Hmmmmmm....

He hasn't turned down Michigan, that is all we know for sure, if he did, we'd know, they'd try to get that out as fast as possible

Or it could mean, we offered you a great deal, you wanted more, went to the meeting, and still had to decide whether our great deal was good enough for you.

Co-beat writer Scott Rabalais is en route to Dallas to keep tabs on Miles, who will speak at the American Football Coaches Association convention at 2 p.m. today.

This just sounds sketchy. Reminds me of that crazy wife in Knocked Up following her husband to that fantasy baseball draft.

LSU officials only need to be meeting with UM officials on scheduling games between the schools, once les is firmly in place over there

USA Today Story:

"LSU officials are talking with Coach Miles," LSU associate athletic director Herb Vincent said Monday night after 10 p.m. "They're trying to keep him."

WTF

Glenn Guilbeau wrote that USA Today story. He has a long-running relationship with Herb Vincent and quoted him directly in the story. Odd.

Sounds like Vincent let something out he wishes he had not and is trying to cover it.
