The TRUTH: Still Up in the Air

No sources, but here's what I think is really going on: Miles met with LSU and they came to an agreement on a contract. He still has not heard from Michigan on details. They have permission to talk with Miles and will do so next week. But, when he meets with them, he knows what LSU is offering. He has bargaining power to get them to pony up. Miles may love Michigan, but he's not taking a pay cut.

As far as LSU goes, Miles likes the contract and will accept it IF he doesn't go to Michigan. According to LSU, this is the deal that he will have as of next week. Of course, who knows if he is here next week? Not Miles. Not LSU. The ball is in Michigan's court. If they make an offer he can't refuse, he says, "Sorry, I have to follow my heart (and the money) and go home. I'm gone." LSU probably gets the buy out at that point and they have 1.25 mill toward a new coach.

This is all IF Miles really wants to go to Michigan. And, it is all speculation on my part. It's looking more like he stays (and I hope he does), but the door is still open until he meets with Michigan next week.

Everyone said what they had to before the SECCG. Miles lied when he left Okla. St., but he didn't lie this time because he didn't say anything. I now think he's staying, but if he leaves, he hasn't lied. Neither has LSU because the MICHIGAN MEETING HASN'T HAPPENED YET!!!! Everything changes after that!
