I know that there are tons of people speculating, and everyone can take it for what its worth.
I'm getting into this convo late but wanted to let you guys know what I know.
A friend of mine works for the W Hotel in New Orleans and one of her friends is the Marketing Director for the Windsor Court in N.O. She told her that she had no idea who he was but one of her employees kept talking about Jack del Rio was at the hotel on Tuesday. They both are huge Tiger fans and graduated from LSU so that was the main convo around the hotel this week.

1) Saban is not coming. PERIOD
2) There is no "deal" already made with another coach. Not Spurrier or anyone.
3) Miles has not already made a deal with UM and the whole negotiation between Miles and LSU is not a charade

so now we have spurrier in the atletic building yesterday(heard this one off the O-T)
saban in BR getting a haircut, and del rio in a hotel in new orleans.

Lotta talk which is obvious. Understand that the Chancellor has been in contact with the BOS and targets are being assessed. You don't need a source to know LSU is CIA.
SS and Del Rio are hot topics. Saban being lobbied but won't happen. RR would be nice but it is widely accepted he's staying put. Petrino is on the fringe as are a couple of mid-major HC. They aren't too focused on one in particular yet.....

If he really has no intention of leaving to go to UM, it makes absolutely no sense to let the speculation go this far. He will wait until he if forced to go public, i.e. maxmize his contract by allowing uncertainty to remain. If you dont think Miles knows what he wants to do by now, you need help.

Why would Miles know when he doesn't know fully what LSU is going to offer him to stay and Michigan hasn't even contacted or offered...

I know that you think that you have a creditable source, but in any rumor mill you have to cite your source or it is going to be passed as rumor not fact.
I'll cite where my info comes from...a very close business partner of David Toms in Shreveport. I would believe that David Toms is a credible source.
Your rumor is nothing...you say that nothing has happened yet...and that is completely false. UM has contacted Miles at the beginning of the season. I'm not sure if you live under a rock, but I think that most intelligent people know that.

I believe he must have an idea what will be offered him, and he may be waiting to use it to sweeten his deal with UM. Its just negotiating really. I dont think the .02 Million is going to be the sticking point on whether he stays or goes. Its just standard negotiating really.

Look, he has not been offered anything from UM yet. There MAY be an offer he cannot refuse, from EITHER school. My take (speculation, now) is that he is torn between his love of his alma mater and his extreme satisfaction with the LSU job (see Saban and his regrets). Those of you who claim he has already decided are just speculating and trying to pass off the speculation as fact. If you have no facts, don't post.

At this point, if he doesnt go to Michigan now he may have burned that bridge forever. He either accepts that job or the door their to him may be closed forever. It doesnt take a genius to figure out what he must do here.

You are right about this part, but the negotiation is to see how much to reduce the buyout to speed up his departure.
He has lost the ADMIN and staying is not really an option. The ADMIN and rightly so beleives the debacle w/ AR and blown MNC shot is a direct reflection of his coaching and the way he handled the rumors.

I understand, but if someone tells you something that you believe as false or rumor you must ask where that info is from. And if that person is giving you this info then they surely wouldn't mind if you gave that information. So give the source or that sources connection to the rumor getting to them. You can't spew opinions or rumors and expect people to regard them as fact with little or no indication that you received them from someone credible.
