You compete on a bigger stage.

You have less risk. If you wash out in the NFL you can always drop back down to college to get a paycheck like Cam did. If you wash out in college you are a high school coach or selling insurance.

You don't have the entire result pinned on you- someone else picks the players and we all know that.

There are probably more reasons.

Absolutely not. Look it up yourself. This just proves how idiotic some of you are for wanting to anoint a coach you just heard of recently. Ridiculous! I hope the big donors don't think like the rest of our sheepish fanbase.

You've already proven my claim. You don't do research.

Why the insults? Do you beat your wife and kids too?

Yes, we agree that your family must be miserable and you don't do real research.

You've literally got nothing to say because you were put in your place.

It's okay. I know you aren't taught to think for yourself in your line of profession.

Jimbo has proved he can run a major program and win NC's.

He's won only one NC. If you're counting the NC's when he was an assistant, then you have to start talking about Herman's 2014 NC when, on the way to the natty, he took a 3rd string QB to Saban's defense (on the biggest stage), treating Alabama like a speed bump.

Jimbo landed one of the greatest QB recruits in Jameis Winston and has his performance in the 2013 NC to thank for his only championship. He's benefitted from down years in Miami and Virginia Tech, the introduction of doormats Pitt and Syracuse, and only recently has Clemson become a title contender. His record at FSU is Miles-esque, over-talents teams FSU should beat, loses to good teams in big games (save for 2013): 10-4 (2010), 9-4 (2011), 12-2 (2012), 14-0 (2013), 13-1 (2014, single loss came in Rose Bowl), 10-3 (2015, blown out by Tom Herman in bowl game), and he's winless in conference play this year.

I don't need to see anymore from Tom Herman. What he did in 2014 with two backup QB's was nothing short of amazing--what he did to Saban's defense during the semifinal playoff game with a 3rd string QB, nobody has done. Now he has taken Houston from being an up and coming school to a national championship contender in less than a year and a half, beating--check that--blowing out highly ranked national powers from big programs (FSU, Oklahoma). Don't need to see anymore of Major Tom to know that he's the guy I want at LSU next year.
