This statement from the Ross Dellenger article is either a purposeful ploy to keep everyone guessing, or should literally be the biggest indictment of how horribly run the LSU Athletic department is.

I really hope that it's just BS and they've had Jimbo or Herman lined up for a while. If this deal was so fluid as losing to Florida opens up the "pool" then we truly have some inept goof balls running this show. It's starting to feel that way.

eta. could also be a move to add some credence to the argument they give O that he was given a fair shake when they try and convince him to stay on.

I'm reeeeally hoping it is the former. I have to think this was 'leaked' in this way to talk the Ogreites down from the ledge and prep them to embrace our real #1 or #2 target.
