and coaching change rumors in general is that the one who denies any involvment many times winds up being the coach. Just this year look at the moves. Petrino's name comes up in passing concerning the Arkansas job and his camp immediately professes their love for the Falcons. All we start hearing are asst. coaches names for the job and all of a sudden Petrino is the coach. Rodriguez name came up fairly early when Miles was supposedly the frontrunner. He professed his love for WVU and then a short time later he's the new coach at Michigan. Now Nick Saban's name pops up as an "interested party" in the WVU coaching search. A fairly quick denial comes from the WV Gov (of all people) and talk about how much Nick and his wife LOVE Alabama. What really sounds suspicious is the Gov of WV saying that Nick bleeds crimson (now that's funny) and will be there for many, many years till he retires. That all brings me back to the impossibility of Nick Saban leaving a 5 mil per year gig with the Dolphins when rumors started floating about him being interested in a change. Noone believed it possible but Nick was pressed early for an answer to the rumors. He professed his ABSOLUTE love for Miami and made the infamous statement "I will not be the next coach at Alabama". Is it so impossible that Nick COULD want to make a change? No amount of denial by any party involved with Nick means a whole lot because these same types of denials were made when he left Michigan State, LSU and Miami. I was listening to talk radio today and someone said the following about the Petrino deal..."Atlanta knew what they were getting into. They encouraged a coach to break his contract (that he had just signed an extension on) and come to them for the money. They should not be suprised that he turned around and broke the contract with them". Nick Saban and Bob Petrino are two peas in a pod so it should not be a suprise to anyone if Nick does do the impossible and goes home REGARDLESS of any denials to the contrary. This is not wishful thinking. It just seems to be the way that so many of these deals have come down.

That needs to be double-spaced. Hard reading.

Noody in their right mind thinks that Nick Saban will leave Alabama to go to WVU. That would be like leaving the yankees to coach the birmingham barons. Not going to happen. I think he actually likes Alabama. The only job he would have left Alabama for is the LSU job if Miles had gone to Michgan and I honestly think he would have gone back to LSU this year. I think now he will stay at BAMA until he retires.

maybe a few paragraphs too. My brain went back into high school mode when I saw something that long to read. I was like " I'm not reading that much" --then mind just started wandering

It's 10 and I've had a few. Sorry to stress those brain cells but I think most people can get the point.

Scoop, I would not have left the Dolphins for Alabama....just sayin! No person in their right mind would jump ship from Atlanta after just 13 weeks for ar-KANSAS....just sayin. Coaches do strange things and lie A LOT. I won't believe anything until WVU hires their new coach.

BamaScoop, if Saban is so happy at Alabama then why does it seems like he's ready to jump ship at any available job?

I mean the dude looks beat.....you can't tell me that's the look of a happy man.

I already know you are gonna disagree with me and offer some BS rationale, but just remember we know Saban probably better than most. The guy just looks like he needs a vacation.

he actually looked a lot better the other day after his recent press conference. I think he is glad to have this season over and behind him. The BAMA job is very high stress and I think it is probably the biggest challenge he has ever personally faced as a head coach. I guess we are just going to have to wait and see if he can handle the pressure or if he will cave like many have before him. Gene Stallings is the only man yet that has not caved in to the pressure of that job. I hope he will stay and I think he can turn it around if they leave him alone and I think they will because the higher ups know that if he leaves it will bury the program.

Yeah, a super high stress job has to be appealing to a man of Saban's age. Someone who does not really need the money has to be chomping at the bit to start another stressful season at Bama. The problem is that the stress level just gets higher even if Saban does win a NC there. At that point it is expected that the coach assumes the Bear Bryant level and that cannot be done at Alabama without cheating. It's a lose/lose for any coach that goes to Alabama and Saban has to realize that. He looks constipated every time he is interviewed. He has aged at least 10 yrs since he left LSU and just does not look like the same person (mentally). He looked a little out of control late in the season and made a few coaching moves that were just out of character. He is not coaching like he's happy.

He's not happy...he is a winner and he is losing. People like him I think strive on stress and that is what makes him tick. It is not about the money for him at this point in his life and I think this job is about turning Alabama around. As for the cheating part, if you think that every major program in college football is not tweaking the rules you are a very naive person.

No offense, BamaScoop, I love ya like a brother and hope you continue posting here for a long time, but he probably hates Bama and thinks it's what is wrong with college football. That's my assessment and I could very well be wrong.

Rich Rod made a wise move not taking that job last year.

I think Tigerark posts more shyt about Saban than anyone here. He just knows that the man is unhappy. He can tell from way over in Arkansas.
Were you not one of the posters that wanted him to come back if Miles went to Michigan? I can't remember, but you have your nose in every thread that is started about Saban, damn dude just let it go. I don't know how long he will be at Bama, hell I don't know if he will there next year, but Tigerark dude, get over it man, its been 3 years.

Does it say in his big money contact that he has to win the SEC or the NC to get his salary?.....Or is he guaranteed his salary no matter what his record is?........if the second statement is true....then where is the pressure? and where is the stress.....it's money in the bank no matter what he does........I don't see the stress.......

Why not? Bama has better facilities and much better fan support. He likes college football better. I'm sure he thinks back on leaving LSU and kicks himself for it.
