This would be a HUGE disappointment. I'm not knocking the guy, looks like a solid coach with a bright future, but he is light years away from deserving an offer from Texas.

Not really, we would just promote Co-DC Chris Wilson who our players love playing for. He is our DL coach this year.

Do you know ANYTHING about Manny??? His defense held Cam Newton and Denard Robinson under 100 yds rushing.

With that said, I hope your right, he is not deserving at all considering he is coaching at Lowly Mississippi State, a Team who won 4 games more than Texas did this year.

I don't think they will take him because he needs another season or two before he can really prove his ability.

On the other hand, I wouldnt call it a HUGE disappointment for y'all if you do take him. He did a hell of a job with what he has at state and at texas he has access to more big time players.

Diaz is a good coach. I'm sure state would love to keep him but I hope he is gone.

No one is saying Diaz sucks.
No one is saying Texas didn't suck **** this past season.

Diaz still has a lot to learn. You don't come to Texas to learn on the job. Texas is the top of the mountain. You go to Texas when you are at the pinnacle of your profession.

I will have totally lost confidence in Mack if he pulls the trigger on this.

after the season/off season Texas has had, hiring Diaz would be the one thing that makes you lose confidence in Mack???

How does the UT fan base feel about Mack after this season? Does he have to win at least 10 next year???

Mack is still a good coach. He isnt' going anywhere soon. Texas was only mediocre to good for about 20-25 years before he got there. Sure fans will grumble but they know Mack's the best they'll be able to get/keep.

In the nation's best defensive conference, in Diaz's first season, his defense was 2nd in the conference, in conference play. I think he has learned enough. Open your eyes.
