If you want to know who is the best coach for your program, do a little research. Look up a guy named Troy Calhoun. He's the next Paul Johnson but bigger, and he's got NFL pedigree. No brainer.

i'm thinking they don't want to do what sc did to them.

i'm thinking they get an OC, DC or old pro guy. I'm surprised Fulmer didn't help out and step back in for a year at least.

I don't know if that would have really helped all that much. Would the kids who have been recruited/committed under Kiffin want to play for Fulmer, especially if they knew he was only going to be there one year, and then who?

If Fulmer comes in to fill the gap while they do a more complete and drawn out search, what happens if the kids he recruits don't fit in with the schemes the eventual new hire puts in place? Bringing Fulmer back as a stop gap would do more harm than good and could possibly louse up recruiting for two or three years.
