If I'm not mistaken when Richt took the job he said that he wasn't interested in moving around at all. Ever.

And there's no reason to fire the winningest coach in UGA history (based on current tenure...)

Mark Richt will be the head coach of Georgia for a long time to come. Or at least till 2013

Oh. In that case, it should be assumed that he will never leave.

It's fair to be skeptical, but I'd take him at his word. He's seems to be a very honest and sincere man.

Where else would you see him going?

The UTAD has gone to great lengths to keep people from tracking their flights. Any UT plane that is being tracked is probably not involved in any way with the coaching search.

Plus there is a search firm working on it too. So there is no telling where they have gone.

Outside of that initial flurry of names and denials there really hasn't been any talk. Good job keeping the search under wraps for the most part.

Are you hearing anything Big O?

The big rumor, which has been addressed today on this board and on several boards, is that Brian Kelly is leading. However, I have also heard that the athletic department was perhaps intending to intentionally leak a name to see what the reaction would be.

Kiffin, from what I have heard from various people who I believe should know, is very interested and I think he would come if offered.

My best guess at this point is Kiffin, because Hamilton has intimated that he wants a new coach named sometime in early December. That rules out Gruden, Leach, and Davis, I would think. I do not think it rules out Kelly.

Many Tennessee fans are apprehensive about the prospect of Kelly getting the job, but I think I would have tempered optimism. He has done well at every job he has taken, but I think alot of those in Big Orange Country are of the opinion that we have to get someone who has won a national championship or a Super Bowl in order to have any hope of restoring us to prominence. I'm sort of exaggerating with that statement, but alot of people think it's got to be Davis, Gruden, Cowher or bust. And while I would be elated to have any of them come to Tennessee, it won't happen and I have no illusion of it happening (although I thought for a while that Davis MIGHT come, I have never believed Cowher or Gruden would come).

So, like everyone else, I'm in wait and see mode. My personal prediction is Kiffin.

where is this? somewhere near Austin, TX or Syracuse, NY? Tennessee is more yellow, though I think Crayola calls that "Push-Up Pop Orange"

Well, we refer to ourselves as Big Orange, the same way Nebraska calls themselves Big Red. Syracuse just refers to themselves as Orange. Texas refers to themselves as...I don't know.

Hope that clears up any confusion.

We can only hope!! No coach in the conference has more talent and less national titles.

I actually like Richt and think he's a very solid coach, just not a National Title coach ... Too predictable.

Richt seems like a good character guy. Seems right for college football landscape. Will always pull for him to do well. Except when playing LSU.
