Hypothetically if it were Napier, he’s got a 9-1 top 25 team headed to its conference championship game. I don’t believe he’d want to be announced until the day after the conf championship at the earliest.

Dude it’s USL, he’s not gonna hurt their chances for a Natty by announcing his departure.

Napier wants to coach the conference championship game. One of his demands was have the opportunity to coach that game in order to win the conference outright on the 4th. The New Orleans bowl is UL’s ceiling and he’s been there done that. On the 5th they will announce and immediately start the final push for early signing.
Btw- Napier was the first call way before orgeron was announcing his departure.

If true I don’t think it’s necessarily indicative that he’s #1 on the list. A lot of groundwork in gauging interest from lots of coaches took place before O was officially notified he was done. No telling the circumstances/timing that would have made it the first call. Only SW knows that.

The only thing in this world that’s definite is death, taxes, and LSU fans leaving at half. I’ll never say definitely bc you never know what happens but I will say confidently it is Napier on the 5th. You’ll start hearing rumblings shortly after thanksgiving
