T or F: LSU football would be better off with a HC who knows nothing about football

ETA: for clarity, I mean literally nothing about football. Like pulling some guy who speaks good English out of his CEO job in Sweden and giving him the head football coach title at LSU.

I say true. And before I get blasted, I have a point here. Albeit a long point, so it'd be best to move on if you're not looking for a TL;DR.

I was reading a pretty interesting article a while back that explained a phenomenon about beginners vs. intermediate people who hit plateaus and never improve vs. true experts. The beginners and true experts basically had the same mindset: I.E. that they feel that they suck at whatever they're attempting. The beginners feel that way because they obviously know nothing and don't have any reason to be arrogant. The experts grossly underestimate themselves because they understand how difficult it is and what level of attention to detail goes into truly being the best at something. The intermediate people, on the other hand, plateau and cause major frickups because they have JUST enough knowledge to have qualities like pride, preconceived notions about what success looks like, and they generally psychologically overestimate themselves because they don't know enough about what they're doing to understand why they suck, or even that they suck.

And that "intermediate guy" is what you have in Ed Orgeron.

He's a guy who's had just enough success in his career to be arrogant, but not enough success to be involved with the CEO and learn the inner workings of the company. He seems like the kind of guy who spent all of last offseason talking to Pete Carroll and becoming mediocre at his job, but he won 9 games this year and now he doesn't have any interest in genuinely learning anymore, because frick it, he's ALREADY great and what the hell else could he possibly learn at this point? The ship is full speed ahead! He's in full-blown yaw yaw arrogance mode right now and he's about to ruin his chances of ever being successful by hiring Ensminger due to it.

I thought that the "hands-off CEO" method was a pretty good idea, but it isn't ever going to work with a guy like Orgeron because he's just competent enough to see enough success to bring out his arrogance, which will inevitably frick everything up. He'll bob up and down in mediocrity his entire tenure here if he's lucky, then he'll be done. It COULD work with someone of the right personality type I.E. Meyer, Swinney, Fleck, but look at them compared to O. We would literally be better off getting an open-minded smart, successful guy off the street with good work ethic who knows absolutely nothing about football but would be willing to learn and bring in consultants and try new things than we are with Ed O and his felon buddy.

Just wanted to throw my opinion out there of why I've completely given up on the Orgeron era and why everyone else should too. Anyone who supports him at this point is completely delusional. Aranda era here we come
