He seems to have a NFL coach personality and persona. I think he could be a good NFL HC but I'm not sure he's had enough seasoning yet.

NFL Network’s Ian Rappaport reports Texas A&M coach Kevin Sumlin, who agreed to a 6-year deal recently, hasn’t signed it. That means the Texans may have a shot at landing him.

Well.. the rumor is still floating around. Might just be a slow rumor day in the NFL, but the meltdown on texags would be worthwhile to watch

It would be somewhat similar to Sherman/Tannehill, but it's not going to happen.

Except Sherman was fired at A&M, and went to OC, and Tannehill had NFL potential. Manziel is a ? and Sumlin isn't fired, and it would be as HC not OC. If the Texans did that I'd forfeit my fan hood.

This rumor has legs as rumor b/c Houston is a big Texas A&M city. They think Sumlin is the shite. They are also 100% sure Sumlin was offered $6 million by USC and he turned it down to stay at TAMU for $5 million. Even though no one else other than TAMU people have confirmed such an offer existed.

That's where all this comes from.

I thought the Texans GM (I think) said they were going to hire an established NFL coach. I don't think the Texans will go with a coach with no NFL HC experience.

Probably true IMO. Makes sense and is the lowest risk.
