. i feel like the backup plan is gus malzahn and they could get him for $2.0M

I don't know that I would have a problem with that, especially if he's able to hire a solid defensive coordinator and put in his contract financial incentives for winning a national title, like Saban had and Miles has.

I believe she is dead set against JH, and that would be due to comments he made a few yrs ago combined with Carrs dislike for him.

Damn is there anyone Carr likes. He doesnt like JH or LM.

Miles is not the right guy now.

He is old now.

I know he's just 57, but he's old now.

The whole thing has just worn on him.

Maybe he could be happier there.
He is such a decent guy, people here dont all care though.
They want wins and elegance.
Dooley and Saban are well prepared for media moments.
They memorize sound bites. Les tells what's on his mind.
So he has to make it up as he feels into it.

I hope Hoke takes it, so Miles stays.
I think he has a chance to win another national championship next year or two with Mettenberg and the usual intense D and the mighty kicking game.

I agree, fine with Malzahn if he has a great D-coordinator to compliment his offense

Brady Hoke, and it is why he is a front runner. Carr still has an office in UofM football facility and still uses it. He has Mary Sue Coleman's ear, and has a huge influence, especially since they went heavily against him with Rich Rod, and it blew up in their face.

if he wins and wins big, we'll rip that thing up and redo it as far as im concerned. we have a history of paying coaches when they produce, i dont see it being any different now...

something low like $1.6M but supposedly hes in bed with some boosters and has some stock where hes making a pretty penny "away" from football. so says a couple know-it-alls on this board

It seems the big name coaches want total control over the operations and having Carr looking over your shoulder is a big negative.

Yeah, it is one of the reasons why U of M is looking for a " Michigan Man." And it is one of the reasons why Harbaugh wants nothing to do with U of M. Him and Carr do not exactly have a love love relationship.

We need to get a hold of his contract and gauge his interest.

If we have to find a replacement, you need to be involved on the coaching search.

TCU invested 150 million banking on Patterson being their guy when they make the BE move, I think it'll be tough.

he should be #1 though should anything happen, worth a shot
