i have seen him in a interview before playing ou several yrs ago. loved his intensity and focus before the game

that's how i knew of him, but who really knew much about Saban before he got here

I remember hearing his name for the first time when he was coaching at Dallas.

only because i live in okc, otherwise i wouldn't have known who he was. liked him at osu better than i liked whiney stoops at ou. better coaching attitude. he beat stoops twice and came close a 3rd time (i think) with less talent than stoops had. loved his excitement for the game and his players. the 'let er rip' and 'we can play with these suckers anytime' interviews sold it for me. i didn't much like how he left osu but when he was named as LSU's coach, i thought it was excellent.
