Raymond would be better than Richard. Don't understand why people are so against this move. Great recruiter, players love him. Also very loyal to LSU. He has been around excellent defensive minds throughout his career.

Corey was one of the first people asked to interview for the job. HE DOES NOT WANT IT. It’s the reason he never leaves. He is comfortable with the position he has at LSU

I can see my sarcasm went over your head. Raymond is just the sort of hire LSU makes at this time. Can't close on its first two prospects, then panics and simply promotes a guy on staff for a position no one is pursuing him for and for an obscene amount of money.
I'm hoping it doesn't happen this time.

I think it's unusual for a guy to be a widely well regarded DB coach for 12 years (9 at LSU) and never get an offer or even an interview, anywhere, to be a DC, especially when he's been through several vacancies here without consideration to be promoted in that role. I'm guessing there's probably a reason why.
