So A&M picks Sherman...

There were the rumors that their top choice was Tubby. Im wondering if Tubby said no because he is interested in the the LSU job. With that LSU plane in Auburn and all its a nice possibility.

There was certainly a lot of buzz. However, Sherman, on paper, is a great pickup for aTm. He has no pull from a major college program and has already coached in the NFL. The only college that he appears to have any affinity for is aTm. Good for the Aggies. I wonder if Tubby isn't looking at the Nebraska job. aTm would have been a slight step down from Auburn. Nebraska ain't the cornhuskers of old, but it's definitely not a step down.
I really hope that LSU isn't looking at Tubby.

A&M's choice of Sherman was an easy hire.
Ties to the old days of the program.
You don't have to worry about a buyout on top of Fran settlement.
This hire doesn't send shockwaves through the Big 12 community. Do you honestly think Sherman will out recruit Mack Brown and Stoops.

Bad hire for the Aggies in my opinion. As more offenses are going to spread offenses, Sherman is going to come in and try to bring the NFL style to A&M. Plus when did he last recruit? I think he is there 3-4 years and gone.
