Should Alleva Offer to Amend Miles' Contract?

I think not. Keep it like it is currently. If Miles wants to go to Michigan, I would not get in a bidding war. I certainly wouldn't extend his current contract or increase the money.

Let's not forget we were a knat's hair away from losing to UNC, UTenn and Ole Miss this year, with a horrible performance against McNeese as well.

I don't want Miles to go, but I also wouldn't get in a bidding war over his services. LSU and LSU football are much bigger than Les Miles. Moreover, UNC catches the pass at the end, UTenn lines up correctly and we don't have the successful drive against Ole Miss and Miles is probably looking at Michigan from the unemployment line.

Too late.

They're in the process of giving him everything he wants.

If he and Lsu wish to retain Miles that offer needs to be in Place now!

The more I think about it.... Miles is going North

I think it is important to remember that Miles went into this season with his pants a little warm, and although the record was better, there is still room for improvement and the aTm and Bama games were really the only games in which LSU looked to play up to its potential. Even then, they looked very sloppy out of the gate.

Amend his contract for what? 3rd in SEC West?

I am nervous about Miles leaving (especially this late), due to the recruiting class potential. If Miles stays and keeps Crowton as OC, prepare for the Capital One Bowl...

Seems as though the sentiment around here seems to be turning a bit. At first, it seemed pretty unified that Miles is wanted. Now it seems to have turned more towards an attitude of indifference.

I can guarantee if LSU gets embarrassed by Oregon to start the year off with Miles at the helm, there will be a lot of individuals that will see this as a missed opportunity that currently want him to stay.

This whole deal is really fascinating to watch play out.
