Agreed. May turn out to be the next great college oc

Time will tell. I didn't know what to think of McElwain when he was hired at Alabama but liked him in time.

Here's to your new hire being good for your program.

I would be really disappointed if we promoted Taylor to OC. Last time we did smthg like that we finished 5-7.

It happened twice.
2003 & 2008 (after Franklin was fired)

I can't even remember who took over after Franklin was canned. I tried to erase that whole season from my memory.

The only thing that helped me cope during 2008 was the hot piece of arse I was dating.

After reading more about him, still wait and see attitude. Article discusses how he went from Michigan, to Detroit, to UF, to Temple the last few years. He has been on a couple of staffs that were cleaned out with coaching changes from the top down. From what little I have read, it appears he IS a good qb coach with a lot of experience in that department having been around and at least played a part in developing plenty.

However, he is relatively young with only 1 year of play calling under his belt. That concerns me. He really has very little offensive play calling / coordinating experience. And he will be in a pressure cooker from day 1 at AU. He is really going to have to overachieve relative to his experience (not in football as he has been mostly a qb coach for 13 years, but as an OC) to be successful at AU.

Also, being the QB coach for Tebow will give alot negative recruiting ammo for other schools when it comes to QB recruting.

You mean getting Tebow drafted in the first round is going to be used as a negative recruiting pitch?

Waited so long because of the NFL guys shooting us down, I suppose.

Freaking awesome Plan B, though.
