School Buyout IS NOT THE SAME as Coach Buyout

I’ve seen this posted a number of times. There are 2 possible buyouts;

1) the amount the school must pay the coach if they fire him. This is why we’re paying O $17M and why A&M owes Jimbo $95M and why OU would owe Riley $26M.

2) the amount the coach must lay the school if he leaves before the end of the contract. This is Zero Dollars for Orgeron and Fisher and was $4M for Riley’s original contract, and I believe others have posted that it is about $10M now.

These are not the same thing. LSU would not have to pay the SCHOOL buyout of a coach we hire, but we might have to pay the COACH buyout.
