Why you mad that LSU hired a proven coach and your shite school had to go bargain bin shopping for someone that couldn’t even win the Sun Belt?

I mean, yeah, Texas sucks, but I don't think that means you can just ignore a loss to them

I thought this thread was about hiring Mike P. Inwill stand my earlier comment that he is a great hire and a very good person.

Very clearly said “Win in the Sunbelt”
Lost to Texas week 1, then went undefeated rest of the season winning all Conf games / Bowl game
Did Texas join and not tell anyone??

As an LSU fan, I was hoping for Aranda or Napier. Kelly wasn't even on my radar.

No doubt UF took a bigger chance betting on Napier, but let's not pretend that Kelly is a slam dunk guarantee. I'm hoping Kelly builds a powerhouse here, but it's obvious that Napier has a lot of LSU fans nervous about UF. It's a bad look IMO when people feel the need to try to contort a thin resume into a bad resume. We'll know soon enough who made the better hire.

Well said.

If anything, Napier has already exposed just how lazy Mullen was. We always knew he wasn’t a great recruiter but had no idea how little the effort was that he put into it.
If anything, it feels good to finally have a HC who eats, sleeps n breathes recruiting.

Now whether he’s the next Zook or the next Meyer remains to be seen.
Hoping more Meyer, minus the chest pains

Yeah because guys who know how to coach are limited to one position group, huh?

But you were bragging about having two of the last three RUNNING BACK coaches of the year. If they’re not coaching that position then you have no idea if it’s a good hire yet.

.@PeaglerWilliam has been recognized by @FootballScoop for the second time in his career.

A decade ago, the site spotlighted him as a GA with “a very bright future.”

At the time, he thanked @coach_bnapier for taking him under his wing at Clemson.

STORY: bit.ly/3q4scoP

Guys who can coach, aren’t limited to a position.

You know Matt House, your DC has coached DL, LBs and DBs at different points in his career, right?

He's more of a guarantee than most other choices. He rebuilt 2 programs into what they are today. LSU needs a rebuild so he's a good fit. Fickle is just feeding off what Kelly did there and ND was a complete shite show before he arrived there. He's not winning NCs there and he knows it. NCAA isn't the 1960s anymore with a Bama dynasty controlling everything on top of the SEC. Napier is way riskier but could end up being either homerun for Florida or an absolutely terrible hire. LSU swung for the fences. Florida did not, they went with a much riskier move that may pay off for them in the end.

Objectively speaking, LSU made the best hire on paper this offseason. They stole one of the most winning coaches from a Blue Blood program. It doesn't happen often. Not only did they steal him, they stole him in the middle of a potential NC run that he obviously felt would never happen there.

Look I’m not into all the trash talk it’s unnecessary to me. I’m happy for Billy. Everyone out here knows how much Billy wanted the Lsu job and sadly we didn’t even give him a chance. I think he’s built on the right things. I can respect a guy who cares about Louisiana as much as he does. What he did at UL was remarkable. He really loves the culture in Louisiana and it’s shown. I understand the interest in him from Louisiana shoot he’s been here for forever it feels like lol.. look at his staff now, he’s very invested in Louisiana. I think recruiting Florida will really be the thing for him going forward especially with UCF,Florida State, and Miami in the picture. He’s a good coach and I wish him nothing but success unless he’s playing us of course ??. But I believe Kelly is a really good coach. To do what he’s done at ND with the restrictions I think is incredible and I’m not saying that just because he’s our coach now. Yea he doesn’t have the chips to go along with his record but I think it will come. We have the Talent I think more so it’s about management/development.

Hey, we each got our guy. It is what it is.

I never said Kelly was a bad Coach, I said I don’t think he’s a great one. When a guy goes Ofer in big bowls I can’t give him that label until he proves otherwise.

Fair enough?

Good luck next season, we’re both in rebuild mode so it might be a tough one.

That’s ?? percent fair . You gotta earn it no doubt. I agree with you it’s a rebuild as much as people don’t want to admit it. I hope fans actually give them time, you know how it is when you lose a game that fans expected you to win it’s all negative. Good Luck to you as well!

Now picture this. Could you imagine if UF hired a HC who spent 4 years at a Sun Belt school because multiple other SEC West schools passed on him? That would really be something.

Nobody passed on Napier, dumbass.

Dude literally turned down the SEC jobs he was offered.
