Safety/Linebacker Coach Discussion

With Nielsen being the target for DC. Coach O has already stated that he will fill the other two open positions. The spots being, linebackers and safeties. I’ve compiled a few names to get the discussion going.
(Yes, Ryan will likely get to choose “his” guys to pick from.. this is just a discussion about candidates)
Some of these guys have play calling experience and would make a great contribution to the staff to help Nielsen.
Linebackers:
DJ Smith(Missouri)
Travis Williams(Auburn)
Seth Wallace(Iowa)
Justin Ena(Utah State)
John Egorugwu(Bills)
Safeties:
Nick Monroe (Syracuse)
Chris Ash (Texas)
Paul Gonzalez (TCU)
Chip Vaughn (Jets)
Roy Anderson(Vikings)
Please feel free to throw in your own names.

Faulk will be hired in some capacity likely as an analyst for LB.
Is it legal to allow a current on the field coach to moved back to analyst role to free up assistant slots? I'm not sure on that rule.

Faulk will be an analyst. We know that.
I also wouldn’t be surprised if Nielsen brought over Michael Wilhoite in some capacity to coach.

Faulk can not be an analyst. Only way he can join this staff is in an on-field coaching role because of Sage

Glenn Schumann would be a great hire! .... However, he isn't leaving for anything short of a DC position.

I might be wrong here but I think you have it backwards. I think he would have to serve two years as an analyst before being moved to the field. I thought they put that into place so it stopped bringing the recruits coach in with him and giving him a position coach job right off the top. Again, I might have it wrong.

11.4 specifically forbids off-field roles as hires such as analyst and strength/conditioning. This is mainly because they are almost unregulated and the number is essentially unlimited where the 10 coaching positions are highly regulated.
The two years is, and I might be wrong about this, is the amount of time an association has to be expired for before hiring as an analyst. For example, Sean Salsbury's QB camp had to be shut down for 2 years (or not have a recruit participant) before he could be hired for an off-field role. He could be hired as one of the 10 coaches at any time.

Give me Bobby April for LB coach and Derek Ansley for Safety coach

Bobby April coaches the "edge" position at Wisco. Our linebackers will be playing in space. Not the best fit.
Derek Ansley is a great name! What's the word on his future?
I'd take Travis Williams and Derek Ansley. They know the SEC.
