You sound really desperate. There's no reason to be afraid. Les Miles has built a tremendous program at LSU.

Whoa! There's a lot of craziness in the Bama football culture that not a lot of coaches want to inherit and deal with...namely the shadow and still love affair with Bear Bryant. Plus, there are far better places to live in this country and more fertile recruiting grounds.

You speak almost like Saban didn't like it in Baton Rouge. He's said in interviews that leaving LSU was possibly the biggest mistake he's ever made. If I'm not mistaken.

Better place to live? Subjective. What may be better for you, won't be better for me.

Better job in college football? Couple programs you could argue are on Bama's level, none at all you can argue are better.

Yup, going to the pros was a mistake, the pro game and the relationship between coach and players just doesn't fit Saban at all.

Which is why you'll not see him go back to the NFL. I'm thankful he did give it a try, LSU would most likely just kept rolling over us and there's no telling what idiot Mal Moore would have hired by now.

He's out of the shadow, He IS our Bear Bryant. We freaking worship him. Do you know any Bama fans?

Natonal Recruiting ranking since Saban arrived:
'07 - #10
'08 - #1
'09 - #1
'10 - #5
'11 - #1
'12 - #3 (so far)

Who the hell has better recruiting than Bama? Even under Shula we got 5-stars and #1 rankings.

Got anything else?

To be fair, Nick Saban is a big part of why Alabama has landed all of those top five classes. That being said, Mike Dubose did it too. The state of Alabama alone doesn't produce what Louisiana or Georgia does, and certainly not Texas, California, or Florida. However, the 500 mile radius around Tuscaloosa encompasses some impressive talent to recruit from for any coach at Alabama.

Bama would pay him whatever...they ain't gonna let him slip away over money. Money isn't nearly as important to them as winning.

You don't see it the way Saban sees it. If Notre Dame offered him $8 million a year, that's upwards to Nick Saban.

If Texas offers him $10 million, that's upwards to Nick Saban. FWIW, I'm not sure Penn State (although it is undisputable that is his dream job, from a time/place non-money factor, the control he would be afforded, the non-interference from the AD and University)is the final Saban gambit - The problem would be - now - with the scandal - Saban's going to have long since stopped coaching when this particular stain is lifted. Likewise, he will never equal the Bear at Bama.

The only place that can really afford him - and really be attractive to him (and seriously, he does not give a rats a$$ about Bama) is Texa$. The Longhorns could actually put him in 9 figures with the whole package, LHN - and Nick, for all of his outward appearances, is a relatively northern liberal guy - there's only, really 4 cities in the south he might feel comfortable - Atlanta (GT? Falcons? No.), Miami (been there, done that, disaster), New Orleans (no) and Austin (intriguing...). Mack has never shaken the "recruiter only" moniker and Darrell Royal, while legendary was no Bear.

And Nick is running out of time....

I don't think Saban is as money hungry as you guys think he is. Has even attempted to negotiate a raise with Alabama? I know he signed an extension in 2009 but I'm pretty sure that just included the standard yearly raise he gets.

Wow you are so naive! You have no idea what saban/sexton are about! Bama is gonna pay dearly this year! Sexton will play PSU/UT/A&M off of bama. If bama makes it to the NC game they will hold the fear of no coach for that game over bama's head! Better get the crimson wallet out!

If we have to give him a raise, we will. But he ain't leaving.

No one will give him significantly more money than Bama.
No one will give him significantly better recruiting than Bama.
No one will give him more adulation than Bama.
No one will give him more control of the program than Bama.
No one has more tradition than Bama
No conference is better than SEC.
He's at the top, he's staying there.

Call him greedy, challenge-driven, whatever you want. But he's not stupid. Leaving Bama would be stupid.

He like SOS wanted a SB ring, realized he hated it, then returned. CUM had all you listed. Now wants the challenge of winning one via OSU/Big-10.

Why is it so far-fetched than Saban would say automatically "No" to Texas or PSU? He has nattty hardware at two stops. Could go down as the GOAT with crowns at 3 different schools.

I think he retires at Bama, but to dismiss any possibility of his intrigue to Austin or Happy Valley, so easily, is a tad assumptive?

Texas can outbid Bama if it comes to that.

Texas

Probably true, but there's a hat on the shadow, if you know what I mean?

Penn State would, under the circumstances - I just think the scandal is too big to be serious. Texas would negotiate some control, but it wouldn't be permanent.

Saban doesn't give a flying f*ck about tradition

True.

What if it's $100 million (and, no $hit, that's the rumor)? He won't leave for $100 million? You'd leave for $100 million and I would leave for $100 million. You can bet your sweet Aunt Maisy's a$$ Saban will leave for $100 million.

Why do people keep saying this? The Yankees can't "outbid" the Red Sox unless they were giving one play all of their revenue, which they are not.

Where does this rumor come from? Message boards? Why would Texas even consider that? Its not like they have been struggling for a long time and are looking to get back like Bama was circa 2007.

Oh but we should laugh at the Bammer that's so full of his program

Genro I feel for you and your fellow Bama fans with regard to Saban. Read your post and replace bama with LSU In it. That's how we felt too so many years ago. Please dont allow your self to be so emotionally vested in Saban. Saban is a money whore and sexton is his pimp! They will rob you, knife you in the gut and leave you in the gutter to die.

How often did Saban's name come up for other college jobs? Serious question because I only remember his name for NFL jobs so I'm just wondering if it ever did.
