A buyout wouldn't stop big money Texas would it? I keep seeing LSU fans bring up the Saban not having a buyout thing. We all agree that Texas has more money than van camp's has pork n beans so a buyout would be meaningless anyway right? It's really kind of a non issue isn't it?

I really wonder if y'all use any logic at all sometimes but I guess y'all want Saban to leave BAMA so bad you are just trying to come up with anything you can?

Nick Saban wouldn't sign a contract with a buy out if he still thought he might go to Texas. Because bottom line it would effect his top dollar.

Sort of like your boys hanging their hopes onto Saban saying his agreement to a contract extension = a signed contract, right?

FWIW, I haven't heard anything about his buyout, whether he has it or not. All I know is that the guy chases the $$$. He's shown it time and time again.

And I don't buy for a second this "I'm too old" garbage either.

Guess we'll find out soon though.

Careful what you wish for! Texas would pull out a 16 inches of pure longhorn while Bama would offer up a 9 inch guernsey

He's never had a buyout at Bama.

Never. Ever. Won't be one in this new contract that he has/hasn't signed.

None of that is relevant anyways.

I can't speak for everyone but he's hardly made me "give up."

I'm more curious than anything. Just like most college sports fans out there.

It's not like we haven't beaten him, more than once. But that's for a different thread.

This really isn't a "coaching changes" board. It's really become "LSU fans are praying with all of their might that Saban leaves BAMA" board. It's kinda crazy. I'm out. Goodnight gentleman. :-)

I understand you guys feel that he lies and could leave Bama at the drop of a hat. I get that. That's what you have chosen to believe based on his history.

I have chosen to believe what he said today:

quote:

“The way this sort of got spun, it was a little bit more like, ‘OK, he got a new contract at Alabama, so he’s going to stay at Alabama instead of going to Texas,’” Saban said in a report by ESPN. “I never considered going to Texas. That wasn’t even a conversation. I knew that if Mack stepped down, there would probably be an opportunity, but it wasn’t something I was interested in doing, not at this stage in my career.”

quote:

"I don't want to go someplace else," Saban said. "I don't know how many times I can say that.

"Maybe this will be what the Cleveland Browns, Tampa Bay thing was to the NFL the last couple of years. That kind of ended the pro speculation. Maybe this will end the college speculation. This is where I'm going to finish my coaching career."

Ban bet open to any that wants it. He's staying.

I don't think there is more than 50% he leaves

However I don't think the door is shut

Not really. I think there's a definite split. I personally would rather he stay, but it's hard to predict what would be the better outcome. Bama fans want so desperately for LSU to care where Saban ends up but as this drags on, more and more don't give a frick. At this point, it's entertainment. After the Texas meltdown, as intriguing as the prospect of a bonus switcheroo Bama meltdown would be, I just don't see that happening. LSU fans were good, but not that good this Christmas.

Your problem is 2 fold.

Mal Moore stated he went to Miami not even knowing if he would get to talk to Saban after his last game. ( how could Saban know he wouldn't be at Miami when he didn't talk to the AD until after the season.

2. Saband told the owner “ if you want me to stay, I WILL.

Why are you idiots disregarding what Saban just said recently? It's like you just can't accept that the man has possibly changed and is 62 years old. 62 YEARS OLD. 62 YEARS OLD. He isn't going anywhere and the guy will sign his extension soon enough. I can't wait for you idiots to eat your words.
