WOW analysts get paid peanuts. That’s shocking.

If there is a salary limit, just offer large performance bonuses.

It was mostly a grunt work position until Saban started leveraging it and stacking his analyst staff with former head coaches that were looking to collect their buyout money in the mean time before getting back into real coaching

I’m sure some of the bigger name analyst that he’s brought in have larger price tags than that, but then again they were paying Butch Jones 30k while he was there because he was making millions from Tennessee still

I don’t think there is a salary limit but if there is, then they most likely have this loop hole covered

I guess Faulk was the price for Sage Ryan and any other future LCA players.

How would this not be a NCAA infraction?

Also not an immediate family member - don’t know for sure but assumed rule would be for coaches and immediate family

Trev is a hell of a coach. He will make a name for himself as a top notch LB coach sooner rather than later. Smart, humble, well grounded, serious, born leader, and knows his stuff about the game of football.

So is the 2 year rule coaches and/or immediate family members?

ETA - when practicing didn’t consider cousins immediate and don’t in current role either...

That’s really the going rate. Most will bust their arse for 2-3 years and then be poached for an on field position elsewhere. In case of Alabama, they have some analysts being paid 6-7 figure buyouts from schools that fired them.

Sage wants Trev to follow him. Bama offered Trev an analyst gig if he could bring sage. Sage started leaning bama bc LSU wouldn’t offer. LSU realized they needed to offer an analyst gig to match Bama’s and they did. Trev cannot be a head coach for high school bc he does not have the certifications/college degree. Once LSU offered Trev, sage was all LSU.

I hope Trev takes advantage and finishes his degree while back on campus. Always good seeing former players finish what they start no matter how long it takes.

Wasn't Trev Faulk the HC at Northside for a little while?

Trev Faulk was an All SEC Academic that graduated in three years and went back and got his masters degree after pro ball. The only reason Sage considered Alabama was because his entire family was concerned about this Title IX stuff and Sage liked Saban just like he likes Orgeron. Once Sage and his family were sold on LSU football not getting hammered on this Title IX mess he immediately committed. Regardless of Sage coming to LSU or not Trev Faulk was going to get his shot on a college staff such as LSU be it as an analyst or a smaller school on the field coach. Trev Faulk will one day be a well respected on the field college defensive coach. I’m not sure where this HC stuff comes from he was already a high school HC years ago.
