these people clamoring on about what's fair to them or information they deserve to know is laughable. do they honestly expect Miles to fire Malleveto without a replacement named? do they honestly expect Miles to give weekly pressers detailing who he's talked to, what his top 5 DC are and how he plans on hiring them? This is the biggest collection of freakin' nancies i've ever seen.

Here's a hypothetical: You're the CEO of a high-profile public company, say a TV network, answerable to the Board of Directors, but with a shareholder base and public viewership whose opinions are important. One of your divisions, say Sports, is performing very poorly. You publicly acknowledge the need to make changes, and promise your shareholders and viewers that you will before next season's lineup is announced.

Do you:
(a) Hold a press conference every day , or at least once a week, to let folks know whom you've talked to and who your preferred new division head is?
(b) Keep your powder dry until you have the right person formally committed?

Assume that there's a handful of potential candidates to take over the Sports division, some of whom are currently unemployed and others of whom would have to sever ties with their current employer.

Do you:

(a) Hire one of the unemployed ones in order to get it done fast, regardless of whether he's the best qualified?
(b) Go after the best qualified, knowing that you may have to wait until he is ready to let his current employer (and the public) know he's leaving?

The reason there is such interest is because Miles is being so tight lipped about it.

There is an underlying fear that nothing will be done. People are going nuts about that possibility.

Very good post.

Add to that:

You have a Playoff Game broadcast upcoming. The same folks that have been disappointing are needed to put a reasonable program together for that airing.

SOMEONE needs to perform those functions, even if they will not return next "season"

Yeah, kinda makes as much sense where grown-ups [allegedly] are concerned as the boogie man in the closet would. Mob mentality coupled with a bad season on the heels of a bad decision Miles was stuck with 'til season's end = panicked mob

Not sure the 8 year-old version wouldn't be over the head of lots of rantards.

Change = not the same old thing. The co dc's did not work out! Waiting to make a change well that = doing the same thing and expecting a different result and that folks is stupidity.

I've got to believe that Miles has some part of the equation solved and is searching for the rest. That is to say, for example, some position coaches are already chosen and finding a DC that he wants and that is also willing to except his choices for position coaches.

Ive posted this B4 and my opinion has not changed.

that would not be the best case... let the new DC pick his people, if you are going to hold him accountable...

and, if he is just waiting, doesn't that screw malvetto's chances of landing somewhere else??? unless of course he plans to keep them as position coaches....

Exactly right. If fact if he were the type of coach could not stand up to the constant barrage, then he wouldn't be worth having. The Mob doesn't seem to care that there are actual families and men's careers on the line. Having said that, he should thow a bone to reassure all the panting dogs.
