Man, we're in limbo.

Incoming recruits seem to be mostly tied to the specific assistants that recruited them.

This is bad so close to signing day--the kids don't know what the staff will look like or if "their" coach will be on-staff next year.

Has anyone heard 1) any specific possible damage to this monster class we have coming in, if Les goes?

... and 2) Is anyone from LSU working "damage control" now with the recruits?

And don't tell me to go to the recruiting board.

That's the biggest bunch of snobs anywhere on the internet.

I'm sure they will lose a few, however, as long as LSU brings in a coach who recruits the sec, the new coach/coaches may bring a few with them.

This relates to a coaching change so it is fine here. I get you about the recruiting board but they just don't want overreacting, bitching rantards infecting the place.

I wouldn't overreact but this hurts us with Freak, Collins and Landry. I think we keep all 3 but it will create some anxiety. Think Freak is an EE so that will help. It could also hurt with oos guys like Randle. And Rasco probably goes to FSU

Where it WILL impact is the oos studs left on our board like Drew and Jernigan. Tough to say how realistic they are now but it will be a true pipe dream if Miles bolts.

I view this as the most critical time for LSU football since Saban's departure. Mettenberger has stated publicly on several occasions that he is coming to LSU primarily because of Miles and Crowton. If Les were to leave, Crowton would almost certainly be gone. Depending on who got hired other assistants could go as well. This outstanding recruiting class could be severely reduced. Let's hope none of that happens.
