Doesn't a state job have to be posted for a certain amount of time (maybe 1 day or 3 days?) before the job can be awarded?

Do you know how long? If Shannon is the guy, that may be why someone hasn't been announced yet.

I do not recall a minimum time in the public sector, probably one business day.

In the private sector a job posting's life is about 3 weeks with the best suited applicants apply in the 2-3 week with "resume bombers" applying in the first couple of days-week.

It has to be posted due to equal opportunity employment, basically. Most jobs are already filled, but still have a posting so others can apply.

Arkansas: I have confirmed the Randy Shannon report that has surfaced is totally inaccurate. Shannon has not been contacted by Bobby Petrino at this point

We should think of a terrible nickname for the defense like we normally do. Code Red and Red Swarm had great runs but now it's time for the Randy Shannon Candy Cannons to take the field.

Some players said that the new DC would be Shannon, but now Richard Davenport is reporting that Shannon is not the guy. I still think it's going to be Shannon. I have no sources.

RD is saying that Shannon isn't the guy ands Johnathan Williams seems hurt by us bringing in Trey Williams for a visit. That about sums up the recent activity.

Danny Kanell said pretty much done deal.

Some of you will know who that is, and why that is important.

That is what I am driving at, the position could be filled and they are letting the job sit out there for the minimum time required. I've worked at companies where that timeframe was s short as 3 days.

I do like a good job search.

Yeah, more so with a government job than a private job. The job has to be posted for a certain amount of time before being filled in this case as you can FOI and find out when the hire was announced and when the job posting was made (if one was made). Private companies, not so much as the person who was hired for the job could start the same day as the posting and not much would ever be said.

It is dumb that they have to post a job in athletics as lets be honest, Jeff Long isn't going to sit at his desk and weed through the resumes of every dumb frick with a HV account in Arkansas...

Oh yeah, I'm thinking of Kerry Collins.

No clue why that's important though.
