First of all, Aranda would still be high on the list if he was still just our DC, and had never left for Baylor. And what you get with him is rare in the profession:
Very cerebral, with the ability to create, implement and coach cutting edge and disruptive defensive units with the ability to make good in game adjustments and adjust to match up problems quickly.
He is exactly what Woody is looking for as far as a stabilizing presence and the type of coach that is not going to do dumb things to embarrass himself, the program or university.
He has tremendous relationship skills and the ability to get coaches, players and recruits to buy into and want to be a part of what he’s doing. This skill is extremely important. Aranda is young, and will be great head coach in this game for a very long time, and we’d be fortunate to have him at the helm going forward.
