Question regarding timing and recruiting

If tea leaves are correct, it appears Lane’s primary discussion today with Carter will be about allowing him to finish the post season then leave for LSU. If they allow him to do that, and that’s a big IF, does the board think it will hurt our class on early signing day or will Lane start recruiting LSU targets while also coaching Ole Miss in the postseason? Obviously, this is unprecedented territory.

Making long-term decisions to salvage one recruiting class is stupid. Even dumber with the transfer portal knowing that one recruiting class can be decimated very quickly the next year.
Make the right hire, current recruiting class be damned. Pick up the pieces for long-term success.

I'll say it again, the LSU AD would have to be a buffoonish cuckold to pay Kiffin 90 MM + to then allow him to coach Ole Miss for some indefinite period of time while LSU effectively goes without a head coach through the critical recruiting and portal period. Kiffin cannot devote his time to playoff preparation and simultaneously build a new staff and learn and consummate LSU's recruiting and portal needs. Moreover, such a scenario would extend the circus-like spectacle of this potential job move for another month or more, subjecting Kiffin and LSU to yet more withering press and uncertainty.
It's not viable, it's not smart, for anyone.
Time for Kiffin to be an adult and make the difficult decision, whatever it might be.
