Question for the barroom lawyers

If LSU wants a coach playing in the CFP and is willing to keep it under wraps until January, can they enter into a binding contract now and just make it confidential until then? Or, are they prohibited from interfering with the existing contracts until after the conference championship/ playoff games?

Tampering is a thing with professional free agent players. It is not a thing with college coaching contracts.
