LSU will only fire Miles if they have a huge hire in their back pocket ready to go 48-72 hrs later. Can't risk losing the #1 recruiting class.

They didn't really push him out. A scandal did.
And Ohio St. is the exception, not the rule. There isn't a lot of Urban Meyers going around. There are a lot more Al Goldens or Charlie Strongs.

So are you expecting another plane crash while recruiting for LSU's hire post-Miles like what happened to Bo Rein? People forget how much that damaged LSU long term. They had a great coach in place and had to scramble to hire someone and ended up with Stovall. They then turn around and get a legit coach in Arnsparger who bolts to be an AD at UF after only 3 years. They then scramble to promote his assistant rather than an experienced coach.

Much fewer examples of programs pushing a coach out a year too early like they should. John Cooper is the only one that comes to mind and Ohio State won the NC almost immediately.

At any rate, Cooper wasn't nearly as successful as Miles has been. Cooper lost more often than Miles did, which is why Miles should probably have a longer leash.

Tressel would still be at Ohio State if scandal hadn't brought him down.
