Based on what, exactly? I’m always curious about these posts. The hire was never going to be announced before the end of the regular season. Other than that, all we’ve heard are rumors from all ends of the spectrum as to who the next hire is and who the targets are. There is literally nothing of substance to go off of, one way or another.

This is dumb IMO. While I would be disappointed and it is not my choice it is far from a bad hire. Stoops is more qualified than Orgeron was when he was hired. More than Miles when he was hired. More than Napier and Aranda also in that he has more skins on the wall. My choice would be Aranda or Napier but stoops wouldn't be a bad hire.

Stoops is 29-45 in the SEC, I just do not believe Woodward would go this route. Stoops is just very very very average.

Damn. Sexton is really trying to convince the Kentucky brass that this guy deserves a huge raise.

Dude, my pet iguana is more qualified than Orgeron. Very poor argument.

This is 100% bullshite. Please rattle off Stoops’ victories over top teams. Napier and Aranda both have wins over ranked opponents in shorter tenures.

As for Miles, that’s absolutely laughable. No one had ever won consistently at OSU before he started turning them around. He beat OU 2 years in a row, and one of those wins took a BCS title shot away from them.

Stoops has won a lot of games vs mediocre and bad teams. Good for him, but he isn’t punching above his weight by any stretch of the imagination.

If stoops is the hire then it better not be some thru the roof contract that woodward likes to give out.

Yep. We swung and missed on Riley and Aranda and waited too long on Napier. It's either going to be Campbell, Stoops, or O'Brian.

This coaching search was likely fricked by shooting too long for coaches that were never going to leave their destination jobs in the first place.
