No one expected the events yesterday to take place, particularly the West Virginia game. I would think even Mr. Pelini certainly did not expect this - seeing he is set to be named Nebraska coach Monday.

That said, does he resign from LSU immediately and not coach the defense in the National championship game (should we get there)?

Had this been just another bowl game - or even one of the BCS bowls, you would just promote someone within to interim def coordinator. With the surprise ascent to the NC game, I would think Pelini might want to be coaching this game - would he not?

If he imediately begins work at Nebraska, doesn't this create some distractions and continuity issues for the defense, going into the NC game?

I can see that Nebraska would want to get a jump on recruiting, but we are talking about the NC game here.

i think it was pretty clear when the players dumped gatorade on Bo instead of Les. It seemed like Bo told the players that he was taking the Nebraska job before the game.

He had no idea, none of us thought so either, that we would make the MNC. He may be second-guessing himself, but it is too late. There is nothing he can do now, unless he doesn't want to be the coach at Nebraska at all.

Then who assumes the defensive duties? This is really crucial, and should we get the chance to play for the NC, the number one hole to fill. This is more of a concern to me than if Dorsey ever plays another down for LSU.

We really don't want the DB coach making adjustments at halftime in a National championship game. Bringing someone else in this late, is not a solution either. If recruiting could wait, it would be nice if Pellini could finish the season, but I guess it is too late for that now.

Bringing in a guy for one game and for next year? I don't think this is a good idea at all. Best to stay with Pelini's schemes and promote someone within for the final game than bring a completely new guy.

Maybe Nick would want to come back and run the defense, you know, just for 'old times' sake!

Gratus, of course.....

Who's going to coach defense for the BCS game?

Be kind of tough with him coaching Ga Tech for their bowl game.

we did this with Tepper.

Notre Dame in the Indy Bowl that year was the only good game that he coached.

Give me a healthy Dorsey for the NC game and I'm fine with whoever Miles assigns to call the Defense.

It's a shame Bo will miss calling the game but he's a "Nebraska Man" now. Can't see letting him do it.

Don't think it would be fair to LSU or Nebraska!

I didn't count myself in that crowd. Four hours or so after I posted this, I see it was still a question being raised on the ESPN show.

You do realize that there is no on monolithic entity called "you guys" that speaks with one voice? There are a multitude of opinions on pretty much any givens subject.
