The optics of how that would look for a coach to announce he’s leaving for another school while the same week preparing for a conference championship are insanely bad. I don’t believe for one second that will happen.

I'd be willing to bet we're miles away from having "the guy". There has probably been conversations with agents but there is nothing firm.
Here is what I have learned about LSU and their administrators...
Always bet on incompetence until proven otherwise.
We haven't seen Woody make a tough pull yet. LSU baseball is a brand that pays. Mulkey wanted to come home and was looking for an exit.

I hope you’re right! The fact that no one knows anything is Woodys MO. You’ll never convince me that Scott isn’t the, or best 3 AD’s in sports and I trust his decision making. Scott isn’t some guy from elsewhere, he’s purple and gold at heart and this is his career hire. I know everyone has said this previously but I don’t think people understand the stock he has in this hire and university. We will hire someone who has us competitive in every game, every season. Can’t wait to see the baseball program under JJ. Trust the search and the man In charge. LSU football will be back with a vengeance.

I believe you are correct. It is all done. And it aint Aranda, Stoops, Napier, or any of the other names mentioned.
I will stick with my friend who I doubted when she told me about the Mulkey hire a week or so before it was done. She did miss on Jay Johnson. She said it was going to be Tim Corbin.
I was told a month ago it was Riley, Dabo, or Jimbo. I still believe it is Riley.
