Been DC at Iowa since 2012. He's been outside of the Top 20 Defenses only twice.
Usually he is top 10.

Dude I wanted this hire when we hired Pelini. Would be a slam dunk hire. Their defense is always nasty.

I'm not sure why this guy hasn't been in more talks at other programs. Is it history with this guy there? He seems like a pretty good DC.

He's been there since Kirk Ferentz took over I think.
Was a DB coach for a long time.

He's been with Iowa since 99, the start of the Ferentz era.

Considering what he has done with middle tier Big 10 talent . . . he could be a great DC with top tier SEC players.

Based on recent history, that’s scary as hell.

Only makes $600k.
But he's almost 60 years old, hasn't worked with anyone besides Ferentz in a while, and no clue how he'd recruit the South.
Seems very loyal as well. Staying as DB coach at Toledo for a decade before going to Iowa under same role then promoted to DC.
Would be a very soundly coached defense though.

Doesn't really matter as long as his Defense isn't 60 years old.
