Sorry, but the idea of having someone from the Hallman era return makes my arse itch. Besides, last time I saw him, he was chewing my arse for NOTHING.

....I know it's not him.....just wanted to voice my opinion on the buzz.

JEEEEBUS!!

I'm beginning to think Malleveto is the best DC in the nation. No one else seems to be worth spit.

I Think too many here judge based on perception and the past where we need to look at the future.

That's why I would love to at least entertain Greg Hudson...
LINK

he addresses the SPECIFIC needs of LSU.
here is what Florida State is saying...
they are looking at him also.

Quit reading when FSU is looking. In case you have not noticed but FSU sucks and has sucked since the expansion of the ACC. Bring back Bennett atleast he is aggressive and his defense's play hard.

are you an agent. You've been pimping that guy all week. I agree he would be a good choice though.

get your head out of your arse...
I am going on his performances and could care less about Fl St. BUT if other schools are also looking...specially schools that need to compete
against the pass, we should open our eyes.

of course it seems as if you have missed the point completely.

am I an agent for him...

NO, I have no interest, except he FITS our needs probably better than any of the recycled names that have been thrown around....
and may be less expensive and easier to get.

Probably and cheaper is not a fix for the defensive problems. Maybe you are a little to young but a person like Bennett(not saying he is the fix only proven)was not the reason for LSU's failures under Hallman's tenure, in fact his defenses during those times ranked among the very best prior to his departure.

Have you tried Boudreauxs butt paste. It works wonders. Or just scratch it.

Have you even bothered to read the qualification at the link, or are just being critical for the hell of it....because you seem to be purposely twisting the message.

Here it is:
LINK
to be honest, I mentioned price as an incentive....
I like his qualifications...period.

What is obvious is there is either a time warp, in which only certain "approved" names get recycled endlessly along these threads. Or there is a genetic predisposition to resist all innovation and change on the part of some who post here, because the ones like Hudson have not shown up on some people's foggy and tunnel-visioned radar screens. I just wonder how anybody expects to beat the dynamic new SEC offenses with the same old same old same old defensive schemes and personnel.

Well said...exactly my point..

The reason I like this guy is
a)that he managed to stop the no. 2 passing offense in the country
b)he was (played) and is a hard core LINEBACKER coach
c)hard core secondary coach.

it seems like a match made in heaven for our needs.

Not trying to twist your message or degrade your post but personally this is like taking a chance with Mallory and Peveto. Stopping a 2nd ranked rushing offense (bowl game??) once does not necessarily make a person qualified. Granted he has performed exceptionally well at ECU and very well may be a great potential candidate for the position. However if a proven coach like a Phil Bennett, Chavis,Sylvester Croom, etc... is available and would accept a DC position at LSU, it would prove to be more beneficial to the immediate needs of an LSU defense in a very physical football confrence.

Please take the time to read the link, which I can see you have not.
Mallory and Peveto would love to be at his level.

Stopping a a 2nd rank rush

It was the #2 PASSING OFFENSE in the country, and yes, they have a winning record in a very short time....

READ...sorry but it is obvious you have not and are just guessing...not trying to insult you..
if you take the time, I think you'll see that he fits our needs well. We do not need any more recycled coaches, let's get one with energy.

you are hanging on to a thread just to argue..

WTF

the point is that this guy seems to fit our needs and is qualified.....
no need to just be chasing ghosts of years past.
...I am sure some of them are doing well..not the point

No problem I have no ill feelings or recieved insults from you on my part, all is cool. I ask that you go to Minnesota's web sight (link) and look at his tenure they metion and look at the schools that would be par with the SEC and you will see that he struggled - granted the talent level may be different and bode well with what he had at UM. However I believe that giving a non recylced as you call it a chance will more and likely result with the Malleveto experiment.

on that..I have no problem with..
no one has to ever agree with, I just like when someone has an intelligent position..even if different than mine.,

this is what I read...and even with MN's talent...I thought it was pretty good

quote:

After holding the Razorbacks' 11th-ranked rush offense to just 80 yards during the Gophers' 29-14 win, Hudson followed in 2003 by heading a Minnesota defense which allowed just 21.9 points per game (second-lowest average by an UM unit since 1985), 340.4 yards a contest (second-lowest average since 1980) and 122.7 rushing yards per game, which was the second-lowest average against the Gophers since 1962. In fact, Minnesota earned top 35 national statistical rankings in all three categories during the `03 campaign while also allowing opponents a little over three yards per carry. Hudson's defense turned in another productive performance in 2004, standing 16th nationally in turnover margin (+.73), 44th in scoring defense (23.4 ppg) and 49th in rushing defense (140.4 ypg).
