He signed an extension in the spring of 2012 which made his contract expire in the year 2020.

Just to make sure I'm on the same page as everyone else.

Mack is resigning - as in stepping down.

Not re-signing - as in staying around.

There was some confusion yesterday about this point.

Now all you stop with the Saban stuff. Not even Nicky himself would be that underhanded.

I think.

honestly getting Strong now could be better for Texas

now that Saban's off the table you can get a coach that could be there for 15+ years and I think Charlie Strong is the next big thing

I am, of course, speculating.

But, I see nothing that means it won't happen.

What did Saban signing that contract yesterday mean?

Nothing.

There was no opening at Texas when he signed it. Everything has changed now.

If Mack resigns today and Saban signs the extension at Alabama tomorrow, that is different.

Texas could still offer Saban. He could take it the same way he could have taken it last week. When there was an opening and an offer, he considered it and decided it was a good move.

Why is that impossible.

50-50, Saban to Texas. Still.

He's not white enough, neither is James Franklin.

The racism at the 40 Akkkers would give Ole Miss nightmares.

no one ever said he signed anything

and it doesn't matter regardless because he doesn't have a buyout

no buyouts for jimmy sexton clients

And Saban to texas by the end of next week after they run interference with a couple of other candidates and make him the 10/10 mill offer.

Him signing the Bama extension yesterday was brilliant. Secures the $7 mill and clears the way for Mack to resign on his own terms.

The chaos from the leak is dealt with.

Saban-to-Texas is still in play, imo.
