Good hire for Arkansas , young guy who will recruit well. He will be a total 360 from WR.

But we wear the pants in the SEC family. Look at the picture, it proves it.

Get rid of the chicken, and Tennessee is nothing but a giant dick.

After visiting some OSU boards tonight I am a little nervous about this hire. Once I got past the "he's a good guy, we love him, congrats for him posts" posts I found out that he is actually just the Safeties coach and not the whole DB coach and according to a lot of posts I read their strength has been with the CB's and Safeties have actually been a big weakness for them. Definitely not the best recruiter on the staff either. Good but not elite by any means.
I think he can still turn out to be a great hire but I'm definitely not as blown away by him as I was 3 hours ago.
Either way, probably still an upgrade over Willy.

I've been reading up on him and exchanging e-mails and texts about Haynes for a couple days, because I knew he was legit candidate.
He does coach the entire secondary, but his 'official' title is Safeties coach/Co-Dc. Kinda like Paul Petrino was titled WR coach, but he coached QB's every day at Arkansas before leaving for Illinois.
FWIW, according to my OSU insider buddy, he is probably the 2nd best recruiter on their staff. He gets alot more guys than his rival page shows, they said something like he responsible for like 24 commits since 2006, with 14 of those being 4-star or higher.
ETA: I'm confident he'll do well here as long as he gets rid of Johnson. He's learned from one of the best in the business at OSU.

Appreciate the info. That alleviates a lot of my concerns. A good amount of the info I was reading seemed to come from overly dramatic OSU fans but it still made me nervous.

Yeah, I don't usual look at the casual fans opinion when it comes to a coaching change.
5 First Team All-Americans
10 1st Team All Big Ten
3 1st Round Draft Picks
8 NFL Draft Picks
in 6 years in the secondary is impressive, no way to spin it.

Plus, he's from Ohio which automatically makes him a good coach.
