Ok Florida only had one interview

But how many times were the turned down for interviews? I think stoops, mullen, and petrino all turned down Florida for an interview and they were caught with their pants down.

I think Stoops was probably just a smoke screen to hire Muschamp, doubt he was seriously pursued, but the others, I agree.

...you can't interview people who aren't interested ... some folks like the jobs they have ... no, really, thats true ..

that is correct. the way these things work in today's big time football is that all hc's have agents. they serve as middle men. a school can approach an agent and try to hire a guy and the guy can honestly tell the press that he has never been contacted by the school. "feelers" are put out to the agents of the guys they are interested in and these feelers are not put out by the university staff but by their agents (search firm). this was, no one gets their reps "soiled" and can claim no contact when in actuality all kinds of stuff has been negotiated. florida is trying to project the image that they didn't have anyone turn them down. good move, if you can pull it off. timing is probably the biggest factor in determining if this works. remember how many guys turned alabama down when they found saban?
