the guy has perfected his system and has always been coaching with inferior talent. i mean outside of tommy blake and LT name one guy that went to TCU? OU put 35 on em but outside of that game they're allowing 8.6 per. held the BYU team that dropped 70 on cal (i believe ?) to freakin SEVEN and held no 8 utah to 13. been one of the top defenses in the country the last few years.

and besides, his 'stache is ballin.

someone better? and I think the 4-2-5 would fit quite nicely here. we never have much talent at LB and we have an overabundance of DT's that can get it done up front

He does have ties...he and Peveto were Co-DCs at Houston the year they got blown out in most games and got their head coach fired. TCU had a good defense before Bumpas and they'll have one after, but yes he's better than what we have now.

yeah lol i just took about thirty minutes and figured that out. he was the head coach and DC from 2000-2002 when originally became dominant. seems like he's been using the position as a stepping stone for his buddies since then.

If CGP is the "brains behind the defense" then explain this? Despite the fact that DB and GP have only worked a total of 7 years together, DB's 30 yr coaching background sure is impressive

do you really find that as proof that he runs the defense? Did patterson suck before he met the mustache?

yet Bumpas is the one who desipite being a position coach at Tennessee, Arkansas, and ND from the mid 80s to early 90s hasn't been able advance as a DC past the likes of Western Michigan and TCU in over 15 years. Is there a glass ceiling for mustached coaches or something?
