Davis could recruit south Florida, especially with Canes about to get zapped and UF still on the mend.
Now, I don't know 'bout all dat...
For real?

Whoever it is, they've gotta help us actually pull some Tampa area kids. That area is just as fruitful as Miami. We've gotten some commits the last few years that somehow never find their way to Arkansas when it's said and done.

No shite. If Long wants Davis and Davis is willing to keep Paul Petrino, this should be done already.
I think you have to wait till the day the season ends. Hiring of John L was a move for the players on this team. It seemed to boost morale a little bit which at this point is way more vital than which head coach figure head we have for the season.

An ironclad contract deferring till final game. Of course if it got leaked that would be tremendously detrimental.

I know, after his melt down in Tiger Stadium I couldn't wait to play him again. Oh well, like they say, shite happens

Davis is the one who kept Canes afloat after getting zapped for prior violations and handed over a NC team to Coker. (Actually had one in 2000 but got hosed)

Never thought of that...
Had Petrino not shite everywhere, they could have perhaps promoted that yearly, but I don't think Petrino would have played along.

Bobby is still in NWA. My buddy saw he and his wife on the golf course today.

Where are they living? Renting a 1BR apartment off Leverett Ave.?
The big house sold, their kids are all in college or older. I'm guessing they kept the lake house and are hunkering down in Monte Ne.

Take it for what it's worth but he said he is living in one of the houses at blossom way.

Rogers right? That's a solid neighborhood, had a number of clients there off of Pleasant Grove when I was in NWA.

Well Paul, John L. and I think their son in law are still all on staff. NWA has probably the highest concentration of their friends and family anywhere right now.

Added Randy Shannon to the 'Officially Removed from Consideration' pile.
If Shannon's name is being tossed around as TCU's next LB coach, not a chance in hell is he being considered for Arkansas's next head coach.
Of course it might have been Tyrone Nix in Ft. Worth and the local media got confused.

Nix already has a job. He is the CO-DC at Middle Tenn. St.

That was a jab at NWA tv media and HV. Nix was in Fayetteville this winter presumably talking to Petrino about our DC vacancy, media reported that he was Randy Shannon and the deal was done.
