These are the guys who sent in applications which obviously, most of them are a reach or a joke or both.
Greg Burke, PLEASE take Bradley Dale Peveto off of LSU's hands.

Others who were the source of early speculation had not applied for the job as of Saturday – including former NSU and current Arkansas State offensive coordinator Doug Ruse, Louisiana College coach Dennis Dunn, former NSU head coach Sam Goodwin, Henderson State coach Scott Maxfield, Mississippi College coach Norman Joseph, former NSU All-American linebacker Gary Reasons and longshot candidate Brad Peveto, the former NSU defensive coordintor whose future as co-defensive coordinator at LSU is under debate.
Les is gonna have to put on his boss pants and get a firing done.

Peveto ain't going anywhere. He and Les are really tight.

Coach Peveto will not be going to NW State.

Tighter than Les and Mallory?

Dennis Dunn would do a good job there. Louisiana College has been a joke in Division III College ball forever and he just led them to their first winning season since the 1960's. They went 7-3 and 5-3 in conference this year and they are in the process of building an on campus football stadium that already has the astro play surface like the Superdome has and they are also going to build a 3 story new athletic center for athletes with new locker room, weight room and coaches offices that will be in one of the end zones of the stadium, like Okie State's stadium set up. They will have as good of football facilities as anyone in D3 football that’s pretty impressive considering LC has always sucked. He is not the best coach probably of the bunch, but he would get good assistants and he is a good recruiter and I think with his familiarity to Natchitoches and all of Louisiana he could make NSU a major player in 1-AA. But that’s just my opinion.

Dunn would be a good choice - he has a lot of recruiting experience from his position at Evangel.
LC revived their football program around 2000, having not played since the sixties. I believe this is their first winning season since restarting the program.

You are correct sir. They went 4-5 in his first season and lost alot of close games in the closing seconds that they were winning. They were close but couldn't get over the hump. Last year was the same thing and they finished on a 3 game win streak though and went 5-5. This year they started out 2-0 and then lost 3 straight to the big dawgs of D3 in Mary Hardin Baylor and Hardin Simmons. But they played their first on campus game since the 60's on their new turf with temp stands and they finshed the season on a 5 game winning streak. He has those folks at LC jacked up and there is alot of excitement around that program, if he stays at LC for awhile they will become a big time player in D3 football for sure.

I hope they hire Ed Orgeron's offensive coordinator at Ole miss. then might not almost lose to them like we did last year.

Then Les needs to go.
LSU spent years struggling a good ole boy back slapping system that held us back from success. We pay Les 3.75 million dollars a year to win football games. Not hold jobs for his friends. It is abundantly clear that Peveto is not good for the program and every unit he has coached during his tenure here has disimproved. If Les can't see this then he is incompetent. If he sees it and ignores it then he is not looking out for the program and should go.

then the day will come when they will both walk out hand in hand.

Personally I hope my former coach (Goodwin) gets the job!

Dunn would probably be the best hire for NSU. As an LC student, I can attest that he's turned LC into a serious program slowly but surely. I'd hate to see him go, but he's got the kind of charisma to get NSU relevant again. So would Goodwin, but he's kinda getting old.

Goodwin was an average coach and not a difference maker. Northwestern needs a difference maker and someone that will really put some excitement and fun back into the program. There is no reason at all in my opinion why Northwestern shouldn't be one of the Top programs in Division 1-AA, they have the recruiting territory, good tradition, decent faclities that can be improved, a good fan base and an overall good school. No reason with their resources and with the right guy they can't be one of the premier programs in 1-AA.

Goodwin is a good guy and coach. Could not go wrong with him, but Imagine that one of the guys not listed will get the job like Reasons, Daye or Peveto. Dunn is far from ready to step into Div I.

Thats your opinion. Some would disagree with you. Mack Brown offered Dunn a position on his staff at Texas a couple of times years ago and he turned it down to stay at Evangel. He was offered the Head Coaching and Athletic director position at NSU a few years back but he turned it down because he didn't feel the timing was right to go to College ball yet. I think that may have been because he wanted to coach his son through his Senior year. Many said Jim Tressel would suck it up in D1 and boy were they wrong. I'm not saying he will be some legend but I do think he would do a great job at NSU in my honest opinion.

Not doubting your word, but that is hard to believe that he would turn down that kind of salary jump. Is he wealthy? Wife wealthy? Texas really pays a lot, probably over 400,000 for DC. And .....at least 200K for assistants.
